Research
My research focuses in how to best manage tropical forests for an optimal retaining of carbon stocks and biodiversity. In Brazil more than 400 million hectares of tropical forest are officially designated for timber production and we are not sure of the extent of the environmental consequences.
The impacts of logging on tree biodiversity and carbon stocks can be diverse depending on the intensity and management techniques, thus in my PhD I will aim to find a strategy that is best for carbon and species conservation.
About me
I’m a food enthusiast and will travel miles looking for new flavours and experiences. I always carry a sketchbook to document my adventures. At home, I enjoy making origami figures or learning a variety of things through online courses.
